An Eco-Friendly, Simple, and Inexpensive Method for Metal-Coating Strontium onto Halloysite Nanotubes

Osteoporosis increases the risk of bone fracture by reducing mass and thereby increasing fragility. The addition strontium (Sr) nanoparticles in tissue results a strengthening bone, induction formation osteoblasts, reduction reabsorption osteoclasts. use Sr for regeneration has gained significant research interest recent years due to its beneficial properties treating osteoporotic-induced loss. We hypothesized that Sr-coated antibiotic-doped HNTs could be used antimicrobial coatings as an antibacterial drug delivery vehicle. Accordingly, we coated with carbonate (SrHNT) using simple, novel, effective electrodeposition method. tested SrHNT on Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, epidermis disc diffusion assessed potential cytotoxic proliferative effects SrHNTs pre-osteoblasts Live/Dead cytotoxicity cell proliferation assay. successfully one-step benign coating method does not produce any toxic waste, unlike most HNT metal-coating methods. Antibacterial tests showed had pronounced growth inhibition effect, culture studies MC 3T3 cells concluded are cytocompatible enhance proliferation.
